The Classic

The Classic is the award winning newspaper of Townsend Harris High School. Published monthly and run by students, the newspaper was selected as a 2009 First Amendment Press Freedom Award recipient. A committee with representatives of the Journalism Education Association, Columbia Scholastic Press Association, National Scholastic Press Association and the Quill and Scroll Society chose Townsend Harris as one of just three high schools across the country to receive this honor. This is the 6th time that Harris has received this prestigious award!
