Craig L. Slutzkin '91

Craig L. Slutzkin ’91, has worked with the Townsend Harris Alumni Association for more than 19 years. Elected as a board member in 1995, Craig was elected treasurer of the Alumni Association in 1997 and has served in that position for the past 15 years. In 2004, he was also elected as the co-president with Tanya M. Odom, and became the sole president in 2010.

Craig has contributed to all areas of the Alumni Association, including fundraising, event planning and website and newsletter communication. Craig is particularly proud to have served on the selection committee that chose current principal Ken Bonamo. Craig serves as chairman of the finance committee that oversees the Alumni Association’s endowment.

Craig has also worked extensively in the financial services industry. He worked for seven years with the accounting firms Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, counting many multinational brokerage institutions and investment firms as his clients. While at Arthur Andersen, Craig also helped coordinate many of the training programs for its employees and served on the committee that oversaw charitable activities for the Metro New York Office.

Craig served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Sprout Group, the venture capital affiliate of Credit Suisse and one of the oldest venture capital firms in the nation, from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, the Sprout Group spun out into a healthcare-technology focused venture firm, New Leaf Venture Partners. Craig helped found this company, and continues to serve as its Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the finance, operations, compliance, technlogy and human resources departments.

Having enjoyed the bridge year program, Craig attended Queens College, graduating with a bachelor’s in accounting and information systems. Craig received his masters in business administration with a concentration in finance from the Columbia Business School in 2001.
