Stephanie Kujawski '98

Following her true passion in global public health, Stephanie Kujawski ’02, left the United States to live and work in Zambia for the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in November 2008. In her role as senior program officer at CHAI, she performs quantitative analyses to evaluate pediatric HIV/AIDS testing and treatment programs and policies, providing evidence-based recommendations for the Zambian Ministry of Health. She collaborates directly with the government to build its capacity to affect health systems in a sustainable way. Her programmatic work with the Ministry of Health will be presented at an international HIV/AIDS conference in July 2010.

At Townsend Harris, Stephanie was involved in several activities that laid the groundwork for her career today, including the club Students Promoting AIDS Awareness (of which she served as co-president, as well as the Archon Society for community service.

Stephanie graduated from Stanford University in 2006, with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After an internship with the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States, Stephanie was selected for a prestigious internship with the Clinton Foundation. She then worked on Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, arranging and scheduling former President Bill Clinton’s campaign events around the country.

Continuing her efforts to influence health policy change and interventions, in the fall of 2010, Stephanie began to earn a master’s degree in public health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, focusing on global health policy and management.
