Shari Gruber '90
Since September 2005, Shari Gruber ’90, has been the director of policy and procedure for Child Care and Head Start at New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services. Shari was previously the director of the New York State Afterschool Network, a statewide public private partnership focused on after school programs and a senior policy associate at American Public Human Services Association in Washington, D.C.
Shari is national vice president of the U.S. National Committee for the United Nations Development Fund for Women and chairs both the strategic planning and bylaws committees.
Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Townsend Harris Alumni Association, and Treasurer of ArtfullyAWARE, a global nonprofit organization which seeks to implement a range of educational arts programs throughout societies worldwide, in order to promote empowerment and enable sustainable development. Shari is a graduate of Vassar College and Brooklyn Law School.
