Advisor Rafael Olechowski, the Phoenix editorial team and club members are extremely proud to announce that the 2011 issue of the Townsend Harris High School literary and art magazine, The Phoenix, won the Gold Crown, the highest national award for student publications which was awarded by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association on Friday, March 9. This year 1,351 print publications were eligible to enter the Crown Awards. Publications were judged on writing/editing, design, content, concept, photography, art and graphics. Out of the 1,351 submissions only 16 magazines received Gold Crown Awards.
