Management of the association rests with a Board of Directors, which convene for quarterly meetings from September through June in New York City. The board is elected at an annual meeting of the general membership. The association's bylaws were first adopted in 1983. The association also maintains regional chapters in Florida, Washington D.C., California, Massachusetts.
