Kenneth Bonamo Named Principal of Townsend Harris High School at Queens College
Kenneth Bonamo, a veteran teacher of Russian and history, including Advanced Placement government and politics, last week was named as the new principal of Townsend Harris High School at Queens College, New York City's premiere humanities high school and one of the nation's highest-ranked secondary schools. Mr. Bonamo, who is currently the assistant principal for humanities at Staten Island Technical High School, will succeed Principal Thomas Cunningham, who is retiring at the end of this school year after a long, distinguished career in the New York City public school system. Townsend Harris wins INTEL SCHOOLS OF DISTINCTION AWARD
The Intel Schools of Distinction Program award winners were announced this morning, and Townsend Harris H.S. was selected as this year’ s School of Distinction for high school Science and will receive a $10,000 cash award. Townsend Harris is the only high school in the country to receive this award! For further details see the news release.
